A stain-resistant tablecloth is real fabric with a finish that keeps liquids out: wine, coffee or oil stay in beads on top instead of soaking in. It feels and drapes like a proper tablecloth, not an oilcloth, and it copes with everyday life without being swapped after every meal.

- Damp cloth, straight awayLukewarm water and, if needed, a drop of mild soap. The sooner, the better.
- Gentle machine washCold or low temperature on a delicate programme, when it's time for a proper wash.
- No bleach or fabric softenerThey're what wears the stain-resistant finish down the most.
- Hung up and stretched outIt dries in no time. Hang it well stretched and you hardly need an iron; if you do iron it, keep it gentle and on the reverse.
- Nothing too hot on topA pot or paella pan straight off the heat is best put on a trivet.

mantelesantimanchas.com is an open-air market stall in Salou and the surrounding area, with a rail full of tablecloths hanging in the sun. It's the best way to choose: you see them in real daylight, feel the fabric, compare two prints side by side and take yours home.

What exactly is a stain-resistant tablecloth?
A fabric tablecloth with a treatment that repels liquids: whatever spills stays in beads on top and is wiped up with a cloth. To look at and to touch, it's just like an ordinary tablecloth.
Is it the same as an oilcloth?
No. Oilcloth is plastic: stiff, cold, and you notice it on the table. A stain-resistant cloth is fabric, it falls in soft folds and can go in the washing machine.
Can it go in the washing machine?
Yes, cold or at a low temperature and without bleach or fabric softener. For everyday use a damp cloth is enough. Always check the label on each cloth.
What size do I need?
Your table plus 20 to 30 cm of overhang on each side. Use the size calculator and send us the result on WhatsApp.

How much are they?
It depends only on the size, not the print: 1 × 1.48 m, €25; 1.30 × 1.48 m, €25; 1.48 × 2 m, €30; 1.48 × 2.40 m, €30; 1.48 × 3 m, €35; 1.48 × 3.50 m, €40. Round ones: 1.60 m across, €25; 1.80 m, €30 (except the Christmas prints, which don't come in that size). These are prices for the tablecloth only; shipping is extra and paid separately, within Spain and abroad alike. Send us your table's size (the calculator gives it to you ready-made) and the number of the print you like.
Can I iron it?
You rarely need to: hung up well stretched, it dries smooth. If you do iron it, use a low heat and the reverse side so you don't damage the finish. Check the label on your cloth.
Is it good for the terrace?
Yes: outdoors is where you'll appreciate it most, because dust, leaves and splashes come off with a cloth. In strong wind, take it in or hold it down with tablecloth clips, and don't leave it in the sun all summer if you want the colour to last.
Do you have Christmas tablecloths?
Yes, they've arrived: red and white, with Father Christmas, sleighs, snowflakes and stars. Ask us on WhatsApp which sizes are left.
